Takbir Refund Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2025
At Takbir, we want learners to feel confident when joining a course. That’s why most courses on Takbir can be refunded within 30 days of enrollment, as long as they meet the guidelines below.
Important: Refunds are managed directly by teachers, not by Takbir. We help connect learners and teachers, but the responsibility for handling and issuing refunds rests with each course creator.
1. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, learners should contact the course teacher directly through the Takbir messaging system or any contact method provided on the course page. Each teacher may have their own process for issuing refunds.
For help contacting your teacher, visit our Learner Help Guide.
Teachers: Make sure your refund method is clearly explained in your course description or profile.
2. 30-Day Refund Window
Refund requests must be made within 30 calendar days of enrolling in a course.
This period is designed to give learners enough time to explore the course and decide if it meets their learning needs.
After 30 days, teachers are not required to process refunds.
3. When Refunds May Be Denied
Teachers may refuse refund requests in situations such as:
- The learner has watched or downloaded a large portion of the course
- The request is made after the 30-day window
- Multiple refund requests from the same learner for the same or different courses
- Abuse of the refund system (e.g., enrolling, downloading content, then requesting a refund)
- The learner’s account is flagged for policy violations or suspicious behavior
- The learner has already received a refund for the same course from a third-party payment service
4. Who Handles the Payment?
All course payments go directly to the teacher (after processing fees). Because of this:
- Takbir does not issue refunds
- Takbir cannot reverse payments on behalf of teachers
- Learners and teachers must resolve refund issues between themselves.
Teachers: We recommend having a clear refund policy listed on your profile or course page.
For recommended best practices, see Teaching Account Terms.
5.Refund Deductions & Processing Fees
When a refund is issued to a student, the full amount paid by the student will be returned, including any platform or processing fees. However, Takbir will recover any non-refundable transaction costs (such as payment gateway or processing fees) from the teacher’s account.
For example:
If a student paid $100, and $3 was deducted as a Stripe processing fee, Takbir will still refund the full $100 to the student. The teacher will be responsible for reimbursing the $3 processing fee. This amount may be deducted from the teacher’s future payouts or requested separately.
This ensures a smooth and fair refund process while covering unavoidable transaction costs.
6. Subscription-Based Courses
If you're enrolled in a future Takbir Impact Subscription (coming soon), refund rules may differ. These will be shared in a separate Subscription Terms document once the service is launched.
7. Refund Abuse & Account Action
Teachers or Takbir may flag learner accounts for refund abuse. Repeated misuse of refund requests may result in:
- Loss of access to certain courses
- Suspension of your learner account
- Being banned from future promotions or discounts
8. Updates to This Policy
This Refund Policy may be updated from time to time. If significant changes are made, we’ll notify you through email or platform messages.
